Should First Year Students start at Community Colleges?
I currently attend a community college (completed 44.6 units) non-transferrable and transferable units combined. Financial aid covers all costs with $46 per unit and covered by state waivers. Should First Year freshman start classes at community colleges to complete their GE and some major courses at 70% lower cost? There is additional stress of mantaining a G.P.A. and transfering to a university. Do you think it is worth the process?
I think Community Colleges should be considered by everyone first, before attempting to attend a 4-year school right out of high school. The cost difference alone is worth serious consideration. Besides transfer-ability, there's not really any good reason not to go the community college route first.
